The end of the tunnel is getting closer but we need a couple of weeks of no cases to really be more confident.

As a country we are seeing light at the end of the tunnel but still pockets where battle to get control continues (eg Tassie).

We can’t ease distancing and isolation measures yet

We acknowledge the clever work done by http://Brilliant.org/MinutePhysics and http://aatishb.com/covidtrends and data reporting by www.covid19data.com.au (who have the best up to date Australian data for coronavirus).

One of the troubles is for most of us is there is just a frenzy of numbers, but not many people know how to interpret those numbers and what they mean.  The following youtube is particularly useful for a better way to understand the numbers and to see the ‘light at the end of the tunnel'.

Unfortunately the youtube uses data that is already nearly a week out of date for Australia, so we have made the same graph using the most up to date Australian data.  We will post this chart daily.

Nearly all of Australia is now in linear growth (and not exponential growth) which is a good start.  That is still growth though, so we absolutely need to continue getting this pandemic under control through our current hand-washing, isolation and distancing measures.  So this is not yet a message that we can go back to life as normal.  It is however a message of hope and encouragement that we are getting there in these times of uncertainty.

Stay safe, clean and socially distanced.
